FDOT performs a strategic resource evaluation of the cost and availability of highway construction materials in the state. In general, this includes asphalt related products, cementitious materials, aggregates, steel product and earthwork materials, but other materials as needs arise. This study aids the Department in anticipation of future construction materials cost and supply issues related to regional, national, and global market conditions that are influenced by many factors (political, economical, natural disaster, demand for similar products, large Public-Private-Partnership (P3) or major contracts, etc.). Updates are provided on a monthly basis, while reports are issued quarterly with the last quarter formulating an annual report. Updates are also available in PowerBI.
